KATHMANDU, March 23: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dilendra Prasad Badu has said that the CPN-UML government had to step down ahead of its term as it tried to trample on the constitution.
Inaugurating the 16th Annual General Assembly of the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (ACORAB) Nepal and the National Conference of Community Radios in Nepalgunj today, Minister Badu said that former Prime Minister Oli had failed to run the government.

Minister Badu also said that Oli had to leave the government as he could not understand the people's feelings and needs when he was the Prime Minister of the country. He said that the present government was formed with special responsibility in special circumstances and added that the main responsibility of the government was to protect the endangered constitution.
Minister Badu said that anyone who tries to go against the constitution would meet Oli’s fate. Speaking on the occasion, he also said that radio broadcasting's main aim should be the defense of the constitution and constitutional supremacy.
Stating that the radio campaign gained a new momentum after the people's movement of 2006, Minister Badu said that the government has always been positive and committed to the development of community radios. He said that they are also providing assistance by giving discounts on the renewal fees of radios, royalties and electricity tariff.
