BAITADI, Jan 27: Nepali Congress' central member, Dilendra Prasad Badu, has termed local level elections as mandatory in a bid to implement the constitution.

Badu addressed an assembly hosted by NC – Baitadi at Melauli on Thursday as the Chief Guest and claimed that the transitional politics will end only after holding the local level elections.

The Nepali Congress has always been in support of holding elections, Badu said while instructing the party cadres to be ready for the periodic elections.

On a different note, Badu lashed out at the main opposition – CPN (UML) – of shying away from election. He accused the UML of double standards and claimed it was not ready to head to the elections.

The NC leader said that all the transformations in the country had occurred under Congress' leadership and that the constitution would be implemented under the same party's leadership. RSS
