KATHMANDU, Feb 2: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has signed a one-year sponsorship deal with the Spanish sportswear company Kelme on Thursday for Nepal national football team. 


Kelmi unveiled the jerseys amidst a signing ceremony organized at the ANFA’s head office on Thursday. Men’s national team striker Bharat Khawas and women’s national team skipper Renuka Nagarkoti revealed the home (red) and away (blue) jerseys on the occasion.

Kelme handed over a total of 3,788 pieces of football material to the ANFA, which included 515 pieces of men’s bibs, 1,097 football sets, 150 pieces of men’s pants, six sets of goalkeeper sets, five pieces of shoulder bags, 1,706 pieces of football socks, 100 pieces of polo, and150 pieces of training jackets. 


“We signed the agreement with a popular sportswear in the world after a long attempt to work with Chinese Football Association,” ANFA president Narendra Lal Shrestha said. “Nepal national football teams (men, women and age-group) will play with the Kelmi jerseys in international tournaments.”

“This agreement is an achievement for the Nepali sports fraternity. We are hopeful this agreement will be enjoyable,” Shrestha added. 


“We have an understanding that the deal will extend for additional three years, although we have signed agreement for just a year now,” Shrestha further added. 


Nepal will start using the jerseys in international tournaments, starting with AFC Asian Qualifications match against Yemen in March.
