KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Amid mounting pressure on the police administration from multiple quarters regarding the detention of singer Astha Raut, the Kathmandu District Administration ordered to release her on bail on Tuesday.
Raut was released this afternoon after the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Janak Raj Dahal ordered the police to do so.
Earlier on Monday morning, Raut surrendered to the police after an on-duty policewoman Ramit Shrestha lodged a complaint against her.
Shrestha had accused Raut of misbehaving with her at the Tribhuvan International Airport last week during the security check when Raut was departing to Bhadrapur.

Yesterday, the DAO Kathmandu had allowed the police to remand singer Astha Raut in custody for four days.
Acting on a complaint registered by Shrestha at the TIA Security Office, the administration issued the arrest warrant against Raut.
Two days after the incident, police staffer Shrestha registered the complaint at the TIA security office. Her complaint was then forwarded to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner's Office, Ranipokhari for further action.
In her complaint, Shrestha claimed that Raut misbehaved her using abusive words during a security check.
Following the incident, Raut posted a live video on Facebook, in which she apparently criticized the policewoman claiming that the latter misbehaved her. In the viral video, Raut is being seen quite furious while using some 'inappropriate' words too.
However, she removed the video after receiving harsh criticism on social media. Later on, she wrote on Facebook and apologized for the use of 'abusive language'.
