KATHMANDU, Jan 19: An arrest warrant has been issued against singer Astha Raut on Sunday for her ‘indecent behavior’ to on-duty police constable Ramita Shrestha at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) last week.

Acting on a complaint registered by Shrestha on Friday at the TIA Security Office, the local administration issued the arrest warrant against Raut.

Raut has been accused of misbehaving the police officer while she was on duty at the domestic terminal of the TIA, Kathmandu on Wednesday, according to the spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hobindra Bogati.

Two days after the incident, police staffer Shrestha registered the complaint at the TIA security office. Her complaint was then forwarded to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner's Office, Ranipokhari for further action.

In her complaint, Shrestha claimed that Raut misbehaved her using abusive words during a security check.

Following the incident, Raut posted a live video on Facebook, in which she apparently criticized the policewoman claiming that the latter misbehaved her. In the viral video, Raut is being seen quite furious while using some 'inappropriate' words too.

However, she removed the video after receiving harsh criticism on social media. Later on, she wrote on Facebook and apologized for the use of 'abusive language'.
