KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Adverse weather conditions have affected domestic flights to and from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday.

While Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flights are underway at the TIA, flights to Biratnagar, Simara and other destinations have been affected.

According to airport office spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, two planes have been diverted due to the deterioration of the in-route weather. A plane of Yeti Airlines flying from Kathmandu to Simara failed to land at Simara and was diverted to Kathmandu.

Another plane of the same airline that flew from Kathmandu to Biratnagar returned to Kathmandu midway due to adverse weather conditions.

According to airline companies, there are no mountain flights for today. However, the international flights are operating normally.
