Some of the domestic and international flights were canceled while few were diverted to nearby airports, while many domestic flights suffered delay. Tibet Airlines canceled its flight while China Airlines plane was diverted to Kolkata, India. Sudden change in the weather led to a drop in visibility, thereby affecting flights at TIA.

Dense fog and clouds covered the northern part of the airport, though flight taking other routes were not affected, Chettri said. Meanwhile, the Weather Forecasting Division has predicted a change in the weather with heavy rainfall and winds in the eastern, central and western hilly regions of the country for the next three days.
