KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The adverse weather conditions at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have significantly impacted domestic flights.
The adverse weather and low visibility has led to disruptions of flights to and from the western regions, including Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, and Bhairahawa, except for Simra and Janakpur in the east. Similarly, today’s mountain flights have also been canceled.
Adverse weather affects flights at TIA
A monsoon wind is currently affecting the country. The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) reported that a low-pressure system located in the central-northern region of Maharashtra, India, and surrounding areas is also impacting the weather across the country.
Due to the same weather system, the country is currently experiencing mostly cloudy to completely cloudy weather with light to moderate rain with thunder/thunderstorms occurring at most places across the country.
According to the MFD, it will be generally cloudy to completely cloudy on Friday afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thundershower/lightning is likely at many places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at a few places in the rest of the provinces.
