KATHMANDU, July 29: Activists joined by locals in Kathmandu on Saturday staged a peaceful protest outside City Hall demanding the Kathmandu metropolis to ensure proper management of street vendors.
The agitating protestors voiced their concerns about the way Kathmandu metropolis is managing the situation of impoverished street vendors. The protestors maintained that the KMC had used force against street vendors without showing empathy towards them.

The protestors chanted strong slogans against KMC officials demanding a more pragmatic approach to manage the street vendors. Some of the placards they carried read ‘Livable Kathmandu for All’, ‘I Voted for You Sunita and Balen, You Are Making Me Regret It’, ‘Rich or Poor, Dignity for All’ and ‘Eliminate Poverty, Not the Poor’.
