KATHMANDU, July 19: When it comes to bagging awards at international platforms, Min Bahadur Bham is no stranger. Having won awards on multiple global stages, Bham’s new project, Chiso Barsa (A Year of Cold) has yet again been awarded at the TRT 12 Punto Script Lab in Turkey with a cash prize of 75,000 euros.
12 Punto is a platform that aims to support projects at the phase of scriptwriting to help in bringing qualified scenarios to Turkish cinema, later turning these projects into movies.
Chiso Barsha is a feature film that portrays love, marriage, and sacrifice where a girl faces multi-layered complexities and struggles for her identity and a safe home – all the struggles that Nepali women go through for a better life and to fight against a patriarchal society.

Previously, the film had won the Norwegian Sorfond Award at the 72 Cannes Film Festival 2019, Paris. Among the 52 applicants, Bham’s project had been conferred the award with a cash prize of $60,000.
Bham’s work has been appreciated for a poetic portrayal of both Nepal's breath-taking sceneries and rich cultural traits, through the protagonist’s liberating journey.
Bham’s first film Kalo Pothi had also successfully collected over 30 million at the Nepali box office.
