Locals noticed the movement of a herd of wild animals including calves in the vicinity of Letang and Bhaunne during the night. The animals were chased away from the area with the help of police.

It may be noted Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari, the districts in the Koshi Province, have reported a surge in the attacks by wild elephants over the past few days. Locals are terrorized with frequent movements of elephant herds through human settlements. Spokesperson for the Morang Police Office, Ranjan Kumar Dahal, said wild animals are unleashing terror by destroying homes and, in some cases, causing fatalities.
