Unknown group cuts off elephant’s trunk in Sauraha

CHITWAN, April 5: A private elephant's trunk has been cut off in Sauraha, Chitwan. Rishi Ram Tiwari, president of United Elephant Cooperative Limited, informed Republica that an unknown group cut off the trunk of Deepak Khatiwada's Chanchal Kali elephant at 11 PM last night.

CHITWAN, April 5: A private elephant's trunk has been cut off in Sauraha, Chitwan. Rishi Ram Tiwari, president of United Elephant Cooperative Limited, informed Republica that an unknown group cut off the trunk of Deepak Khatiwada's Chanchal Kali elephant at 11 PM last night.


He said that the elephant will also have problems with food. “Elephants drink water through their trunks. It has been cut,” he said, “We are worried about how to feed it.” The elephant is understood to be 45 years old.

Now the number of tourists is more in Sauraha. Elephants are busy at such times. There are 32 private elephants in Sauraha.
