Addressing a public rally in Lamahi of Dang District on Sunday, Tharu said his party would wage a strong nationwide protest movement if the UCPN (Maoist) did not surrender the arms of its fighters to the State within 10 days as per the Seven-point agreement. [break]
“We also know how to operate weapons if the Maoist party does not hands over arms with its former combatants to the Government within 10 days,” he said.
Senior leader of the party and former minister, Gopal Dahit said their protest movement won’t be halted until the Constituent Assembly was dissolved.
The Tharuhat Tarai Party Nepal that has been calling for dissolution of the Constituent Assembly announced that it would launch a general strike beginning November 23.
