DADELDHURA, Dec 27: One person was killed and another seriously injured after a jeep and an autorickshaw collided in Rampur, Dadeldhura, on Friday night.
The accident occurred around 8:30 PM at Jaltuda in Aalital Rural Municipality–4, when a jeep bearing registration number Ma 1 Cha 441 collided with an oncoming auto-rickshaw (Bhi Na Pa 001 Ha 0408).

Ram Bahadur Baral Magar, 26, of Parshuram Municipality–10, Jojala in Dadeldhura, died in the accident. Another passenger, 21-year-old Sabita Thapa Magar of Panchdewal Municipality–3 in Achham, sustained serious injuries.
According to Dadeldhura District Police Office Chief Barun Bahadur Singh, the injured woman was initially taken to Jogbuda Hospital and later referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment due to her critical condition.
There were three people, including the driver, in the auto-rickshaw at the time of the crash. The auto driver, Gopal Magar, fled the scene after the accident, while police have taken the jeep driver into custody, the Jogbuda Area Police Office said.
All three passengers in the jeep escaped unhurt. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
