Bus-magic van collision in Sarlahi kills one, injures nine

A collision between a passenger bus and a magic van in Lalbandi, Sarlahi, killed one person and injured nine others on Monday afternoon.

RAUTAHAT, May 20: A collision between a passenger bus and a magic van in Lalbandi, Sarlahi, killed one person and injured nine others on Monday afternoon.


The accident occurred along the East-West Highway at Raniganj in Lalbandi Municipality-17 when a bus (Na 6 Kha 7227) traveling from Raniganj towards Lalbandi struck a magic van (Na 1 Ja 2645) coming from the opposite direction.

The crash injured all nine passengers in the magic van. Authorities rushed them to Model Hospital in Lalbandi for treatment. Among the injured, 22-year-old Sona Pant died during treatment, the Area Police Office in Lalbandi confirmed. Sona was the daughter of Veer Singh Pant of Raniganj, Lalbandi-17.


The remaining injured passengers continue to receive medical care. Police have taken both vehicles into custody. The bus driver fled the scene, prompting a search operation. The District Police Office in Sarlahi has launched an investigation into the incident.
