KATHMANDU, Dec 27 : Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister and patron of the Ujyaalo Nepal Party Kulman Ghising has said that genuine political unity is impossible if it comes at the cost of erasing the existence of others.
Speaking at an inauguration ceremony organized by the Ujyaalo Nepal Party’s Nuwakot–Kathmandu Liasion Forum in Boudha on Saturday, Ghising stressed that emerging political forces must come together by recognizing and respecting each other’s identity.
Ghising says ministry cannot remove him from service
“Unity does not mean eliminating others’ identity,” Ghising said. “True unity is moving forward while accepting everyone’s existence and ensuring mutual respect.”
His remarks come amid ongoing discussions among Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane and Ghising on forging a broader political alliance before the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) elections.
Ghising said the country now needs fresh thinking, new leadership and a new direction, adding that public sentiment favors unity among new political forces. He urged emerging leaders to set aside personal ego and work together for a shared national purpose.
The minister also noted that public trust in the Ujyaalo Nepal Party is steadily growing and called the upcoming election a crucial opportunity to reshape the country’s political future. He emphasized the need for citizens to remain vigilant and elect honest, capable and accountable leadership through the polls.
Highlighting the party’s nationwide organizational expansion, Ghising said that what began as a small spark has now evolved into a national movement.
