KATHMANDU, AUG 19: The price of gold has reached Rs. 52,250 on Friday making it expensive by Rs 1,550 per tola (11.664 gm).

According to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association (NEGOSIDA) the gold transaction was done at Rs. 50,750 on Thursday in the domestic market.

NEGOSIDA attributed the rise to increased consumption of the yellow metal by India and China following downgrading of the US´ credit rating, as that exerted upward pressure on the global gold prices.

The price of silver which has also increased  today by Rs 19 will cost  Rs 1,175 per tola.
