KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The Election Commission (EC) has published the final voter roll for the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, confirming a total of 18,903,689 eligible voters nationwide.
The decision was approved at a meeting of the EC held on Saturday, with the updated voter details made public shortly thereafter. According to Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the roll includes citizens who will have completed 18 years of age by March 4.

Compared to the 2022 House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections, the voter list has expanded by 915,119 new voters. In the 2022 elections, the total number of registered voters stood at 17,988,570.
Over the past three years, the number of male voters has increased by 522,552, female voters by 392,552, and voters listed under “other” by 15, the EC said.
In line with the growing electorate, the EC has also increased the number of polling locations. For the upcoming election, 10,967 polling sites and 23,112 polling centres have been designated nationwide—an increase of 75 polling sites and 885 polling centres compared to the previous election.
