KATHMANDU, July 15: The death toll in a landslide has reached to seven along with the death of four more children in Rukum district on Friday.
Among the dead are Ramesh Gharti, 4, Amrita Gharti, 18 and Sabina Gharti, 9, of Purting Kada VDC of the district, informed Arjun Bhandari, the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Rukum. [break]
Landslide also swept the house of Udiram Budha of the same village. Udiram Budha, 53, his wife Kali Budha, 48, their grandchildren Roshan Budha, 5 and Ekraj Budha, 2 are among the dead from the Budha family.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police and locals are searching for the other six that have gone missing. 10 persons are missing in Purtimkada, VDC-3 Githakoth of Rukum. Three others died in Bhalatakuri VDC-1.
Likewise, three persons were killed and five others injured when a landslide hit a house in Thansingh VDC of Nuwakot district, according to police inspector Anum Jang Rayamajhi of the District Police Office, Nuwakot.
