In the finals held at the National Sports Council Covered Hall, Morgan defeated NIMS 38-26 in the women´s category while in the men´s category Morgan beat National Campus 62-46.[break]
With the win Morgan pursed Rs 25,000 each in both categories. National and NIMS had to remain satisfied with Rs 15, 000 each. The most-valuable-player (MVP) of the tournament received Rs 10,000 each.
MVP awarded Sujata Rai´s 11 points guided Morgan to the victory. Morgan was 4-0 down by the end of three minutes of first quarter but Nora Gurung´s three pointer cut the lead.
However, Morgan took the first quarter by 10-5. Once, the score was leveled at 12-12 during the second quarter. NIMs scored eight points against six points of Morgan in the second quarter to keep the total score 16-13.
After the half, Morgan showed their skill and the team work in order to take the quarter by 13-4. Morgan had 12 points lead by the end of the third quarter and continued it to the last as the fourth quarter was tied in 9-9. Choki Dolma Tamang played vital role in order to lead her team for the victory as she had 10 offensive and defensive rebounds.
After the win Morgan Coach, Bipendra Maharjan said that the match was tough as the opponent played man to man defense. "We utilized our skills and teamwork against their stamina."

Sujan Pun´s 20 rebounds, eight assists and 20 points guided Morgan for the impressive victory over National. MVP Saurav Shrestha scored 17 points with seven rebounds and four assists. Morgan took the first quarter 14-10 and never looked back.
Pun, who is suffering from the right shoulder injury, dominated the game and took the second quarter 16-7. In the third quarter when Pun was benched for his four fouls, National took the quarter 16-15. Pun came back into the game in the when 4.25 minutes were remaning and took the quarter 17-13.
After winning the match coach Maharjan said that he had trained players for six months and achieved the desired result. "This is my first win in both categories in a national championship. I have included three new players in the team and it worked well."
National Coach Durga Bahadur Thapa said that his players performed well in the final but Pun and Shrestha took the match away from their hand.
Playing with passion
