LAHAN, May 3: As many as 25 people, who had attended a funeral ceremony of COVID-19 patient at Bathnaha Village of Manarasiswa Municipality-9 of Mahottari district, have tested positive for the COVID-19.
All those 25 people diagnosed with COVID-19 had attended a funeral ceremony of a 66-year old man dying of the COVID-19.
Trace and test
There are currently 27 COVID-19 patients in the village in home isolations. As many as 47 individuals had undergone PCR tests of which 25 were tested positive for COVID-19, according to Chief of Municipal Health Division Nawal Kishor Thakur.
Bathnaha Village of Manarasiswa Municipality shares an open border with the neighboring country India that has witnessed a sharp spike in the COVID-19 cases.
As many as 155 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in just two days in Mahottari. There are currently 200 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.
The District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee has decided to enforce prohibitory orders in 10 municipalities and five rural municipalities in the district from 6 AM of May 5 to midnight of May 14 in a bid to contain further spread of the COVID-19 in the district.
