“The rhino baby was unwell when we rescued him a week ago,” he said, "While the rhino baby was being rescued, we assumed that the rhino baby had pneumonia."
Doctor Sadaula said that the post-mortem report conducted after his death confirmed that the baby rhino died of pneumonia. The Trust estimates that the mother rhino may have left the rhino baby because he was sick and unable to walk. Dr Baburam Lamichane, the head of the Trust, said that it is very difficult to save small rhino babies that are separated from their mothers.
