POKHARA, Jan 29: Shangri La Village Resort here is organizing a weeklong event titled ´Let’s go to Shangri La´ to promote internal tourism. The program will take place from February 10 till 17 and will feature different ethnic foods each day, along with music, dance and exhibits.
“We are doing this so that locals can have access to an international-standard hotel,” says Bijay Subba, general manager of Shangri La Village.

A ticket to the event costs 100 rupees and the organizers claim the proceeds will be spend for a social cause.
Along with exhibiting samples of local culture, the event is also to include performances from popular singers such as Ramkrishna Dhakal and Preety Kaur.
The event hopes to pull in 2,000 internal tourists.
