1 killed, 12 injured in Rautahat road accident

RAUTAHAT, Jan 8: One killed and 12 others have been injured in a bus road accident near Dhansar Bridge along the East-West Highway on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Mina Tamang of Ramechhap Chisapani-2.The condition of Ganesh Pandit amogn those injured is critical, said police. Pandit has been taken to Hetauda for treatment while the other injured are receiving treatment in Chandrapur itself, DSP Manoj Yadav told Republica.

The accident took place after a bus, Na 5 Kha 272, heading to Kathmandu from Biratnagar rammed into a truck stationed on the road near Dhansar Bridge, said DSP Yadav.

The bus was ferrying petroleum products. According to Yadav there were over 5,000 liters of petrol in the bus.

The bus driver is at large.
