RAUTAHAT, Dec 16: One person died and another one was injured in a road accident in Sarlahi on Friday. According to the police, the accident occurred when a tractor collided head on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The tractor (Ja 2 Ta 527), which was heading towards Malangwa from Parsa, hit the motorcycle (BR 30B 1673) coming from the opposite direction at Brahmapuri Rural Municipality-3 of Sarlahi along the Postal Highway.
Three killed in motorcycle accident in Sarlahi
According to the police, Sanjay Mandal, 31, of Ramnagar Rural Municipality-4 and Surendra Mandal, 57, of Etaharwakatti-7, Mahottari, were on the motorcycle when the accident occurred.
Surendra Mandal died in the accident. Mandal, who was seriously injured at the scene of the accident, was taken to the Malangwa Provincial Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. However, Sanjay Mandal suffered a broken leg.
The police have impounded the tractor but the tractor driver is absconding. DSP Vijay Yadav, information officer for the District Police Office, Sarlahi, said that the search for the absconding driver is underway and other investigations are being carried out regarding the incident.
