Finance ministry forms committee to provide recommendation for upcoming budget

This committee will provide recommendations to the government on economic affairs and the policy measures to be included in the upcoming budget.

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The Ministry of Finance has started a necessary process to formulate the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. 



Spokesperson at the Ministry of Finance, Tank Prasad Pandey informed that a Revenue Advisory Committee has been formed as per the prescribed schedule for budget preparation.

This committee will provide recommendations to the government on economic affairs and the policy measures to be included in the upcoming budget. 


After the ministry decision, the Revenue Advisory Committee was formed under the coordination of the Secretary (Revenue) of the Ministry of Finance and commenced its work. 


The committee will provide suggestions on policy and legal reforms related to income tax, value-added tax, excise duty, education service fees, digital service tax, taxes applied on e-commerce, and other internal taxes as per the Finance Act.
