Salute to my icon
Our mornings are incomplete if he does not talk to us. His day starts pretty early and lasts long. He is always around us to take care of each one of us. You can expect to learn a lot from him every moment. He is a believer, an entrepreneur, and a man with principles and rules. I am talking about my granddad -- the man I idolize. Someday I wish to follow his steps.
At 93, he is the most active man I have ever met. Through modesty, he created an empire for his family. The mantra in his life has been simple living, high thinking; it still is.
He says it all started small. With time, things started falling in places, and then there was no looking back.
He has his values, but in the meantime he has also changed with time. Everyone loves his company. This is the best quality that we like about him. The way he persistently encouraged us with our academics and our ambitions helped us get closer to him.
The other day while he was playing badminton with my younger brother, he kept telling him stories of him being a kid and how things have changed. Little did my brother understand, but we definitely loved listening to his real-life incidents.
When we’re together, I feel like I’m in a company of a VIP. He has fluent English, charismatic persona, and at the same time is soft-spoken, and kind-hearted.
There are some people who are rough on the outside and soft in the inside. He is one of them. It is just amazing to see how he can be so quick and sharp with the calculations. The travel stories he shares of different places seem like folklore to us, but the way he has explored the world sounds challenging. The number of visa stamps on his passport is sure an achievement.
Each one of us looks upon you as a mentor. You have always been the motivator of our individual journeys.
