Gallery LA is hosting a group painting exhibition on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2019 at Boudha. The all women’s exhibition began on March 8. The exhibition includes seven women artists—Anamika Gautam, Anisha Maharjan, Deepmala Maharjan, Kunti Shree Thapa, Muna Bhadel, Namrata Singh and Sabita Dangol.

Nritya Aagan is all set to organize 'Kadam: Celebrating the Arts', an annual fundraising event. The event is scheduled on March 17 at Sanskritik Sansthan, Naach Ghar, Jamal. The event aims to support the work of the nonprofit organization Srijanalaya and tickets are priced Rs 300, Rs 500 and Rs 1000.

Despite being the victims of conflict, because they are civilians, they never received compensations of any kinds from the government for what had happened to their lives and the lives attached to them. Though the civil war came to an end in 2006, the sufferings of the war-victims still have not finished.  The various difficulties they face and how they are coping with their lives now are on an exhibition titled ‘14 Stories: Living Memories of War’. The exhibition kicked off on Tuesday at Staff College, Jawalakhel where it also features the audio along with photographs of survivors.

American Visual Artist Maureen Drdak, while in Nepal as a Fulbright research fellow in 2011, she passed by an ancient and stately banyan tree nearby Department of Immigration office, Kalikasthan. She noticed that this tree was choked by encroaching development and deprived of room to grow naturally. Its aerial roots had been severely cropped to prevent their descent, resulting in masses of hanging gravid bundles. Drdak experienced these striking shapes as powerful yet poignant metaphors for development’s relentless strangulation of natural forces, she was inspired to explore their forms.
