Thirty-five-year old Ghiu Kumari Rana, who used to run a hotel near the Mission Hospital, Tansen, decamped with the cash and jewelries she had collected from various people and institutions, including a bank, over the last two weeks. [break]
A permanent resident of Huma VDC-1, Rolpa, she had collected the money as loan from the people. She had also mortgaged her land at local Garima Development Bank, without any knowledge of her family.
Her husband Daljeet has registered a complaint with local police, asking the police to search for his wife. He had been on foreign employment in Dubai, the UAE and had recently returned home.
