Weather to change from Tuesday: Met office

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Westerly wind, which brought the current change in the weather, has caused rainfall throughout the country on Monday. The Kathmandu Valley experienced a light rainfall on Monday as the drizzle that had started on Sunday evening continued till the next day.

Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has expected a change in the weather from Monday night."Eastern and central regions will witness a change in weather only from Tuesday," Sujan Subedi, senior divisional meteorologist at the MFD, said. He said that moderate rainfalls in February is normal and it is good even from the point of view of agriculture.

According to Subedi, the division is expecting a complete change in existing weather only after three days.  

The MFD recorded 25 ml rainfall in Dadheldhura on Monday, the heaviest anywhere in the country. While Jumla recorded 22 ml rainfall, the Kathmandu Valley experienced 3 ml rainfall. Despite the rainfall, minimum temperature of the valley rose to 9 degree Celsius, compared to 7 degree Celsius on Sunday. Senior Meteorologist Subedi expects temperature to rise in the coming days.
