Gold price surges 55 percent in 2025

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Gold was dearer by 55 percent in one year’s period of 2025.



According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price of gold stood at Rs 151,000 per tola in the domestic market. On the date, the price of the precious metal was US $2,607.08 per ounce in the international market.

On December 31, 2025, the gold price escalated to Rs 261,000 per tola in Nepali market, as it was recorded $ 4,334.88 an ounce in the international market. In the review year, the price escalated by Rs 110,000 per tola in Nepali market, while the growth of $1,727 per ounce was witnessed in the international market.


As per the international media, gold prices surged after a number of countries started increasing their stock of gold citing the geopolitical tension and economic instability.
