KATHMANDU, Jan 3: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has been unanimously recommended as the sole candidate from Jhapa-5 for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election.
The decision was made by the meeting of UML Jhapa Constituency No. 5, which endorsed Oli as the party’s direct candidate. The UML source said that other aspirants had also shown interest in contesting from the same constituency, but later Oli’s name was unanimously agreed upon.

Oli had previously contested and won elections from this constituency in the 2022 and 2017 general election. The constituency is considered as one of the strongholds of Oli. Jhapa has a total of five constituencies, and meetings were held today in the other areas as well to finalize candidate recommendations.
