KATHMANDU, Aug 5: Traffic movement returned to normal after a four-hour chakkajam by Youth Association Nepal, the youth wing of CPN-UML, starting 6 am in the capital on Sunday.

Transportation services came to a grinding halt due to the strike that, the YAN said, was called to force Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai’s exit from the government. [break]

Commuters faced a tough time in the capital due to the strike. There were a few reports of attacks by YAN activists on vehicles defying the chakkajam.

Earlier, YAN chief Mahesh Basnet had said they would continue their strike unless PM Bhattarai steps down. YAN activists had also taken out a torch rally in the capital on Saturday evening.
