KATHMANDU, July 6: A joint meeting of eight student unions today has decided to intensify the ongoing agitation against the government.

Talking to RSS after the meeting, President of the Nepal Students Union Ranjit Karn said the meeting agreed on making the protest programs more effective in the days ahead.[break]

The meeting also demanded the government take action against those higher secondary schools running illegally and ensure timely supply of fertilizers to farmers, said Karn.

It may be noted that the different student unions have been agitating against the government´s plan to bring the new budget through ordinance and a ´delay´ on the part of the prime minister to resign from his post in line with the agreement reached among the parties.
