600 cops face action for unprofessional social media posts

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: The Nepal Police has taken action against 599 of its service personnel for posting non-professional and unauthorized content contrary to policy related to social media use.



Nepal Police spokesperson Abhinarayan Kafle said departmental action has been taken against personnel ranging from a Deputy Inspector General to office assistants for posting indecent remarks about the police organization and misusing police uniform on social media platforms such as Facebook, X, and TikTok. He said the count includes all cases recorded since fiscal year 2077/78 BS.
