PADT suspends special worship at Pashupatinath temple

KATHMANDU, March 21: Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has suspended the special worship at Pashupatinath temple owing to a possible outbreak of novel coronavirus in Nepal.

KATHMANDU, March 21: Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has suspended the special worship at Pashupatinath temple owing to a possible outbreak of novel coronavirus in Nepal.


As a precautionary measure against the COVID-19, the trust halted the worship. However, the trust has informed that regular worship will be conducted as usual.

Similarly, the number of devotees to the holy Pashupatinath has also declined amid the grappling fear of coronavirus in the country. During daily worship, the Trust has not allowed a group of more than 25 people.


Hand sanitizers have been made accessible on the temple premises.


Earlier, the Government of Nepal had restricted the gathering of more than 25 people in one place.
