Chinese national arrested with Rs 2.09 million for involvement in hundi business

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Apil Raj Bohara at the District Police Range (DPR), Kathmandu, a team of police officials rounded up Rikshe Wangmo, 26, of Tibet, at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, on the basis of a tip-off that a hundi transaction was taking place in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27.

KATHMANDU, April 3: Police have apprehended a chinese national for involvement in a hundi business and seized over Rs 20 million from her possession.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Apil Raj Bohara at the District Police Range (DPR), Kathmandu, a team of police officials rounded up Rikshe Wangmo, 26, of Tibet, at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, on the basis of a tip-off that a hundi transaction was taking place in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27.


“:Upon investigation at the mentioned location, Wangmo was searched according to the law and we seized Rs. 2,092,000 in cash from her possession,” SP Bohara said, “She was taken into custody and presented to the Kathmandu District Court which extended the custody by four days to facilitate the investigation.”
