KATHMANDU, April 3: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held discussions with industrialists and entrepreneurs in Thailand.
On Thursday morning, PM Oli invited the business community to invest in Nepal during the meeting. He said that the diplomatic ties between Nepal and Thailand have been long-standing and emphasized that the relationship between the two countries has always been cordial.
Nepal and Thailand have never been under colonial rule and both countries have strived to overcome similar poverty. Among them, Nepal has made significant progress. In the last decade, Thailand has emerged as one of the prosperous nations due to its advanced technology, achievements in prosperity and the policies it has adopted for poverty eradication.

Oli said that if Thailand's acquired knowledge, skills, and advanced technologies are brought into Nepal and if Thai investors invest in Nepal, the country could also achieve prosperity quickly.
PM Oli said that an investment environment has now been created in Nepal and that the government has been flexible to the extent possible to protect investments and has amended the law accordingly. According to the president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Thai entrepreneurs have expressed interest in investing in sectors such as education, health, and technology in Nepal.
Nepal-Thailand relations are relatively good in tourism. Since Thailand is a Buddhist country, a majority of Buddhists visit Lumbini in Nepal, the birthplace of Buddha. It has a different kind of goodwill and respect. It has great potential to attract investment from tourism.
Thai entrepreneurs are placing more emphasis on agriculture and technology for investment in Nepal. The government believes that the continuous efforts of industrial umbrella organizations in Nepal and the favorable investment environment created by the government through recent amendments to the law will attract more investors.
