Speaking at the launching ceremony, Dipak Malhotra, executive chairman of IMS, said Galaxy Note device will be beneficial for people involved in different professions.

Galaxy Note features the world´s largest 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display. It is powered by 1.4 Ghz dual core processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It costs Rs 61,300.

The high resolution smart screen provides an immersive and best in class viewing experience while ensuring smartphone portability and on the go usability, Ramesh Ghimire of IMS said.

Galaxy Note has an advanced pen-input technology - called Smart Pen - that can be used for precise and detailed sketching and artwork. Its superior handwriting recognition allows ideas to be freely captured and shared with other devices by converting the texts into digital characters, added Ghimire.

The device features 8 mega pixel camera with LED flash and additional 2 mega pixel camera at the front for video calling. It supports high speed LTE and HSPA+ connectivity options. It comes with 16 GB memory that can be expandable up to 32 GB. Galaxy Note is a super slim device with just 9.65 mm thickness.

Another interesting feature in Galaxy Note is S Planner. S Planner is a smart professional planning tool that makes full use of the device´s large screen and advanced user interface. The management planner integrates the phone´s to-do tool and schedule application, allowing simple drag and drop functionality between the two applications: control and navigation, helping users to comprehensively organize their busy life.

IMS has arranged easy financing for expensive Samsung smartphones. “In association with Guna Finance, we provide zero percent installment scheme through which one can take Samsung smartphones by paying 25 percent of the cost as down payment and pay the remaining with six months,” Bishal Acharya, CEO of IMS, said.

The company plans to sell 200-300 Galaxy Notes by the end of this month. It is soon entering into an agreement with Ncell to bundle Galaxy Note with Ncell SIM cards.

“We are also opening ´Smartphone Cafés´ in Durbar Marg and New Road where customers can touch and feel smartphones,” added Malhotra.

IMS sold around 250,000 Samsung handsets in 2011 and 10 percent of the handsets were smartphones.
