Samsung Galaxy camera to hit stores this Nov

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Samsung Galaxy camera, a camera that also contains the features of a phone, is all set to enter the Nepali market soon.



International Marketing Services (IMS), the sole authorized distributor of Samsung mobiles in Nepal, said it is launching the Samsung Galaxy camera by the end of November. "We are introducing it in two different colors: black and white and its price is likely to stand at around Rs 50,000," said Deepak Malhotra, executive director of IMS.[break]



According to IMS, Galaxy camera comes with a 16 mega pixel camera and has 21x optical zoom so that users can take pictures of distant items easily.



The phone has Android 4.1 platform, Jelly Bean operating system and is equipped with features like auto focus, pop-up Xenon flash, 23 mm wide angle lens and AF light.







"It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, which is as same as in the Galaxy S III smartphone," said Malhotra. The camera features a 4.8-inch S-LCD display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels translating into 308 pixels per inch (ppi).



Users do not have to worry about scratches and minor physical damages as the device is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and have TouchWiz UI protection system.



"Owing to its features such as geo tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection and optical image stabilization, the camera has easily gained popularity in the countries it already been launched. Hence we are very excited to introduce it in Nepal," said Malhotra.



The phone comes with wireless network connectivity and supports High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) 3G network and Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G network. "Though the device supports 3G connectivity via a micro-SIM card it does not have calling feature," said Malhotra.



It has internal memory storage of 8 GB and 1 GB RAM. The users can extend the memory storage up to 32 GB through a micro SD card. The users can easily upload the photographs in Facebook, twitter, Instagram and other applications.



One can access the data from the camera using WLAN, Bluetooth and a USB port. The device supports messaging options like SMS, MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM and RSS, GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS, Java, Dropbox with 50 GB storage, MP3 and MP4 player, organizer, image and video editor and document editor, among others.



The camera comes with a standard Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery and is equipped with sensors like accelerometer, gyro and compass.
