"It is both objectionable and regrettable to engage in political activities based on communal agenda," said the UDMF through a press release.
The Madhes-based parties have said that such activities on the part of CPN-Maoist would not only weaken the cordial relations that subsist between Nepal and India, but also undermine democracy, development, political progress. The parties also said that the move is against the interests of both Madhes and Nepal as a whole.
The Madhes-based parties have alleged that CPN-Maoist cadres have been obstructing and resorting to physical attacks against academic institutions and construction works run with Indian investment.
"Any Nepali individual or political party that is truly patriotic and is in favor of progress cannot carry these kinds of agenda," the statement further said.
Though allies in opposing Baburam Bhattarai-led government, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have criticized the decisions of the Baidya-led Maoists.
