“The way the government cut off security and privileges to the vice president is extremely objectionable and disgraceful. It has hurt us,” the parties said in a statement issued after their meeting on Monday.
The government last week revoked state privileges to Jha after the latter turned down the request of the government to retake the oath as ordered by the court. Even the Madhesi parties in the government -- Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (Democratic), Tarai Madhes Democratic Party and Sadbhawana Party -- had appealed to Jha to respect the court order.
The three parties also expressed concern about the recently introduced security plan that was endorsed by the cabinet last month.
“There is a possibility of ultimate misuse of the plan against the Madhes and the Madhesis,” the statement undersigned by Bijay Gachchhadar, Mahantha Thakur and Rajendra Mahato on behalf of the parties said.
The parties have also asked the government to reactivate the high-level mechanism to monitor the implementation of the agreement signed between then Madhesi Front and the government in February, 2008.
They also expressed concerns about the appointment of judges in appellate and district courts, saying that the appointments were not inclusive.
The parties, however, reiterated their support to the government despite calls within their parties to pull out of the government.
