Rs 10,000 to quake victims as winter relief

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: The government has decided to provide Rs 10,000 each to the earthquake-affected families so that they can keep warm in the winter. A cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided to release the amount to the victims as soon as possible.

Minister for Information Sher Dhan Rai said the decision was taken as per a pledge made by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in his address to the nation, to provide relief to the quake victims in view of the approaching winter.


Meanwhile, the cabinet meeting also decided to transfer eight AIGs of the Nepal Police.

AIG Pratap Singh Thapa has been tranferred to the Metropolitian Police Commissioner's Office, AIG Surendra Bahadur Shah to the Police Academy, AIG Rajendra Singh Bhandarai to the Security Council, AIG Bigyan Raj Sharma to the Crime Investigation Department, and AIG Ganesh Rai to the IGP's Office, among others.
