KATHMANDU, Jan 29: The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Election Commission on Thursday held a detailed discussion on preparations for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5.
The meeting focused on coordination between the two institutions to ensure the elections are conducted in a fair, free and fear-free environment across the country.

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal led the discussion, which was attended by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, Election Commissioners Dr Janaki Kumari Tuladhar and Sagun Shumsher Jabara, Election Commission Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut, and Home Ministry Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha, among other senior officials.
According to participants, the talks covered security arrangements, administrative coordination, and measures required to maintain law and order before, during, and after the polling process. Emphasis was also placed on ensuring voter confidence and safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to close cooperation to ensure the smooth and credible conduct of the upcoming elections.
