KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) has expressed serious concerns over the obstruction of  former king Gyanendra Shah´s trip to the western region.

"The ploy to disrupt the former king´s visit has grossly violated a citizen´s constitutional rights and individual freedom," the pro-royalist party said in a press statement on Friday. [break]

The party has further called upon other political parties to refrain from such ´objectionable´ activities in the future.

Early in the morning, Shah had to cancel his visit to Myagdi district following a banda called by activists of various political parties with intent of preventing Shah from coming to the district.

The banda, however, was lifted later on after the cancellation of the  trip.

Shah reached Pokhara Thursday on his  weeklong ´religious´ trip to various district of Gandaki and Dhaulagiri zones.
