Revenue collection up in Birgunj Customs Office

BIRGUNG, Nov. 29: The Birgunj Customs Office, country´s main revenue collection center, has collected some 19 per cent more revenue than its target during the first four month of the current fiscal year.



The Office said that Rs 21.96 billion revenue was collected against the target of Rs 18.51 billion during the period.



Similarly, the present figure is some 10 per cent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year. The Office said that Rs 15.59 billion revenue was collected during the first four month of the last fiscal year.



According to the Office, Rs 8.39 billion was collected from the customs, Rs 9.51 from the VAT and Rs 4.04 billion was collected from the excise duty during the first four month of the current fiscal year.
