Addressing a press meet organized today by Nepal Press Union Chitwan at Narayangadh, leader Sitaula said it was the time for focusing on the enforcement of constitution and reconstruction of earthquake-damaged structures, not searching for an alternative to the government.
Power politics was not the priority of the government, he said, stressing that the government should show its full commitments to the implementation of constitution.
"Holding of elections of the local bodies, provinces, House of Representatives and National Assembly was a part of the enforcement of the constitution," the NC general secretary said and sought the government's special focus on the rehabilitation of earthquake survivors as their situation was becoming worse day by day.
Talking about the party's upcoming General Convention, he expressed his hope the Convention would help the party generate new vision and ideologies. But he said he did not want to disclose about his possible candidacy in the General Convention as appropriate time has not come to speak about this.
He further said talks being held at the political level with the agitating Madhes-centric parties would reach to a conclusion soon, however, the matter about the demarcation of federal units could not be sorted out immediately. Sitaula was of the view of forming a separate political committee to deal with the matter. RSS
