Addressing the event, Senior Manager of the NTB, Surya Thapaliya, emphasized that motorbike riding can play a significant role in promoting Nepal’s tourism. He noted that such events encourage tourism products beyond traditional trekking and mountaineering, contributing to road trips, adventure tourism, and cross-border travel.
“This Nepal Riders Meet will significantly support the promotion of adventure and experiential tourism in Nepal. By promoting motorbike riding culture in neighboring India and attracting Indian riders to Nepal, we can expect a boost in tourist arrivals. Motorbike riding is not just about touring; it also offers an opportunity to experience Nepal’s culture and nature firsthand,” Thapaliya said.
The organizer and partners, including Sakil Gauchan of the Friends of Royal Enfield (FORE) Nepal, Meghraj Paudel, Director of Royal Enfield, and Anil Kafle of The Himalayan Club, highlighted the event as a key festival for the riding community. They stressed that motorbike riding should be developed as a valuable tourism product that fosters camaraderie and promotes Nepalese culture.
The participation in this event is expected to help establish Nepal as an attractive destination for regional adventure tourism. Since its inception in Bardiya in 2013, the Nepal Riders Meet has grown from a small gathering to an event with over 500 riders. The event aims to showcase Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural diversity, scenic highways, and warm hospitality.
According to the organizer, motorcycle tourism offers a close-up experience of destinations and serves as an effective medium to share travel stories internationally. Previous editions of the Nepal Riders Meet have been held in Bardiya, Chitwan, and Manang. The event is also expected to support international promotion of Nepalese tourism destinations through digital platforms, rider networks, and media coverage.
