NHRC delegation off to Qatar to discuss migrant workers' issues

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: A delegation of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has left here today for Qatar to discuss the issues of migrant Nepali workers there with the officials of Qatar's National Human Rights Committee.

The three-member delegation is headed by Commission Chairman Anup Kumar Sharma, according to a press statement issued by the Commission on Saturday. The human rights delegation is expected to make efforts for the protection and promotion of Nepali migrant workers in Qatar.


Besides, cooperation, coordination and sharing of mutual information regarding the migrant Nepali workers are the agendas of the meeting of officials of two human rights bodies, the Commission said. Both parties would exchange views on the protection and promotion of human rights, too. The Nepali delegation is scheduled to return home on November 17. RSS
