KATHMANDU, May 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday increased marginally by 8.03 points to close at 2,239.60 points.
Although the secondary market moved to an upward graph for the third consecutive day, the daily turnover amount however was pretty low. There was a total transaction of mere Rs 889.83 million on Thursday trading, even lesser than Rs 1.04 billion on the previous day.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
In the intraday trading, the market that opened at 2,231.57 points rose to as high as 2,245.33 points. Nepse fell to the minimum of 2,223.03 points before it recovered to post the nominal gain for the day.
Eight out of 13 trading groups witnessed gain on their average shares prices. Hotels and tourism, development banks, hydropower, finance companies and ‘others’ were among the losers.
Mega Bank Nepal had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 54.21 million. The company was also recorded as the topmost gainer. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest percentage.
